Q: What are the qualifications of your tutors?

A: Our tutors come from a variety of backgrounds, including former and current teachers and professionals from a wide variety of disciplines who have specific expertise in the subject area. Keller Clinic tutors are either certified teachers or hold a bachelor's degree or higher in the subject area they are tutoring.  The two things they all have in common is that they are experts in their respective academic subjects and they are passionate about helping students succeed. 

 

Q: Where do tutoring and other services take place?

A: All services take place at our office in Bloomfield Hills.   We are conveniently located on Woodward Avenue, just North of Square Lake Road, on the East side of the street.

 

Q: How long are tutoring sessions?

A: All tutoring sessions are one hour in length.  Although, we do offer longer sessions if arranged in advance with the tutor.

Q: What are your hours of operation?

A: Our business office is open Monday-Friday 9:00 - 4:00.  Tutoring and all other services are available 7 days per week by appointment. 

 

Q: How do I schedule tutoring appointments? 

A: All of our tutoring sessions are scheduled directly with the tutor you are working with.  Our tutors make every effort to match their availability with the student. At the first contact, the tutor will discuss scheduling constraints and work with the family to determine the best schedule for the sessions.

 

Q: How do I schedule testing appointments?

A: All testing appointments are scheduled through the business office.  We typically like to schedule students earlier in the day so they are fresh and at their best.

 

Q: How much improvement can I expect from working with a tutor?

A: It all depends on the individuals’ goals and effort they put in.  Our tutors will provide you with a highly qualified, successful and motivated tutor.  You provide the hard work by practicing and implementing suggestions on how to study, doing all of your homework and sticking to realistic goals and expectations.

 

Q: What are your rates?

A: Tutoring fees range between $55-$70 per hour.  Test preparation fees range between $65-$75 per session.  Counseling and consulting fees range between $60-$150 per hour.  Testing fees are based on the specific needs of the individual.

 

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: Academic tutoring services are not covered by insurance.  We do participate with BCBS, BCN, Cigna and other major carriers for psychological and testing services.  

 

Q: Will I be charged if I have to miss or cancel an appointment?

A: We understand that there are times when you must miss a scheduled session due to emergencies or obligations for work or family.  However, when you do not call to cancel a session you may be preventing another client from getting much needed assistance.  Conversely, the situation may arise where another client fails to cancel and we are unable to schedule you for a session, due to a seemingly full appointment book.  Therefore, we charge for the regular session fee if you do not call to cancel at least 24 hours prior to your appointment time.
